Quick Overview
Gregarious fish swimming with its head slightly tilted downward. Highly prized for its size and bright coloring.
Need a large tank of at least 55 gallons (220 L) with plenty of room for free swimming.
Does not greatly disturb the vegetation or other species present in the aquarium.
On the other hand, it is important to keep in mind that its active lifestyle and swimming speed may disturb more graceful species (e.g. Discus, Angel Angelfish, Pearl Gourami, Flag Cichlid, etc.).
For this, we generally recommend keeping the Torpedo Barbus with active fish only.
Ideal for Barbus and/or Rainbow Fish tanks.
Like all Barbus, this one lives in small groups of four or more.
