Odessa Barb

Quick Overview

Highly prized among barbs overs, due to its very bright coloring, its exceptionally active lifestyle and its small size.

It is strongly recommended to keep the Barbus Odessa in schools of at least six individuals.
Requires a tank with dense vegetation, surface plants and good swimming space.
May occasionally nibble and disturb young shoots and tender vegetation. Avoid plants with thorns (e.g. Cabomba, Limnophila, Mayaca, etc.). Vegetable granules and flakes recommended to supplement your diet and meet your need for plant nutrient intake. Does not disturb plants such as Cryptocoryne, Echinodorus, Crinum, Anubias, Bucephalandra, Microsorium, Hydrocotyle).

Due to its active swimming, it is recommended only with other active and semi-peaceful species.
Community with precautions. Preferably, avoid mixing it with calm or long-finned species (e.g. Pearl Gouramis).

Ideal for Barbus and/or Rainbow Fish tanks.
May also be suitable for tanks of semi-aggressive cichlids (e.g. Kribensis, Gorges de Feu, Zebra Convicts, Apistogramma, Geophagus, etc.). Generally coexists well with medium-sized Grouse and robust Gouramis.
