Zebra Pleco L46 2cm

Pleco Cactus Léopard L114

Quick Overview

The L114 Leopard Frog Pleco is one of the most impressive and desirable plecos in the aquarium hobby. Native to the Amazon River basin in Brazil, it stands out immediately with its bold orange-yellow markings contrasted against a deep black body. Every specimen displays a unique pattern, making each fish truly one of a kind.

Often sold under different trade names, the L114 is especially appreciated for its powerful appearance and wild coloration. Unlike smaller dwarf plecos, this species can reach an adult size of approximately 8 to 10 inches (20–25 cm) in captivity. However, it remains far more manageable than common plecos, which can exceed 18 inches (45 cm).

The L114 thrives in aquariums with strong filtration, good water movement, and high oxygen levels. It prefers environments decorated with driftwood, rocks, and caves where it can retreat during the day. Primarily nocturnal, this species usually becomes more confident and visible in mature, stable aquariums.

Although generally peaceful toward other fish, it can become territorial with other bottom dwellers and plecos, especially in smaller aquariums. Providing multiple hiding spots is strongly recommended.

The L114 is an omnivore with carnivorous tendencies. It enjoys high-protein sinking pellets, bloodworms, brine shrimp, krill, shrimp, and quality frozen foods. Unlike some other pleco species, it does not rely heavily on wood as a dietary requirement.

With its spectacular coloration and impressive presence, the L114 Leopard Frog Pleco makes an outstanding centerpiece bottom-dweller for advanced tropical aquariums.
