Whiptail Catfish ''red lizard''

Quick Overview

Highly prized for its bright orange coloration and rather special shape, this Rineloricaria is a peaceful algae eater that's suitable for most South American-themed community tanks.

Like the other species of its family, Rineloricaria parva tends to do much better in schools of at least 3-5 individuals.

Clean water and a good circulation suits this species well.
Peat filtration is recommended, as well as densely planted areas driftwood and Catappa leaves.

We recommend a fibreous plant-based diet.
Kelp, spirulina, algae pellets, cucumber, zucchini and boiled spinach will all be readily accepted.

Acceptable nitrate level for the species: 1-30 ppm
