Spectacular stem plant that requires very strong lighting, Co2 supplementation and regular iron-based supplements. As with all stem plants, plant stems several centimeters apart so as to allow enough light to reach the bottom leaves.

One of the hardiest, most popular stem plants available in the hobby. Will grow in a wide array of conditions. Care should be given not to plant the stems too close to each other, as top leaves may block out light from reaching the lower ones.

It can spread very quickly and if left untouched will eventually cover lakes and ponds in their entirety. While it offers cover to freshwater fish because the leaves of the plant blocks out sunlight, it also can block the sunlight from reaching underwater plants. Open aquariums usually take advantage of Salvinia Natans, because the leaves shade the light from entering the tank so that algae cannot grow. Once again however, it can grow rampantly if there is enough light and nutrition, so from time to time it may need to be pruned in order to keep it under control, and stop it from overtaking the entire tank.

Très belle mousse qui se fixe à toute sorte de support avec du fil de nylon ou de la colle à plantes, sans trop la compacter, jusqu'à ce qu'elle se fixe d'elle même. Bon apport d'éclairage, engrais réguliers et supplément de carbone recommandés.

C'est une plante résistante ayant une pousse rapide. Il faut la placer dans un endroit calme et sans remous.

Plante qui pousse plus lentement que la plupart des plantes à tiges, ce qui exige moins d'entretien pour la coupe. Sa coloration est d'un vert clair et teintée de rouge si l'éclairage est intense.

Prévoir un espace suffisant pour son épanouissement. Un apport en fer est recommandé. Peu perdre ses feuilles lorsque transplanté: couper les feuilles abimées et de nouvelles pousses apparaîtront au centre de la plante.

Bel effet décoratif lorsque planté en groupe de 15-20 rameaux de taille échelonnée. Lorsque l'éclairage est suffisant, les rameaux sont plus compacts et poussent moins rapidement en hauteur pour puiser leur lumière.

Cryptocoryne parva from Sri Lanka is the smallest of all Cryptocorynes (only 3-6 cm tall and a roset less than 5-8 cm wide). It is one of the few species that does not significantly change its leaf shape and colour depending on cultivation conditions. It needs more light than most other Cryptocorynes because it almost loses its leaf blade under water. So it must never be overshadowed by other plants. Individual plants should be planted a few centimetres apart, and after about six months they will form a cohesive low group of plants. Recommended for foreground planting.

Fast growing stem plant that prefers cooler, mineral-rich water and strong lighting. Will require liquid supplementation for optimal growth. Has been none to react poorly to copper. Be sure to plant the stems a few centimeters apart so that light can reach the bottom leaves.

As with all members of this family, the horizontal rhizome should be exposed and never planted into the substrate layer. Grows best when attached to driftwood. Easy, low maintenance plant. Good for beginners, rarely eaten by fish.
