The Flourite substrate range is available in 6 varieties and two formats of 3.5kg (7lbs) and 7kg (15.4lbs) Sand should be preferred if you want to create an aquatic garden with ground-covering plants with fine roots. Because in a coarser substrate, their roots will have more difficulty establishing themselves. For other types of aquariums, regular substrates are ideal for easier maintenance with the siphon for water changes. Flourites substrates must be rinsed thoroughly before introduction as they contain a fair amount of dust. When adding water to the aquarium, fill slowly to avoid disturbing the Flourite® substrate bed. Place a bowl in the aquarium and add water directly to the bowl, allowing the water to gently overflow onto the gravel bed. Initial cloudiness is normal. To eliminate it if it persists, you can use a product that will clump together the fine particles like Accu-Clear or Clarity.
