Very active, cold water fish. Excellent for starting a fish-in cycle. Extremely hardy. Should only be kept with other active fish, such as barbs and rasboras.

Easiest cichlid to breed, the convict is one of the hardiest and most robust species in the hobby. Female are adorned with bright orange scales around the abdomen region, while males tend to develop a protruding forehead once they reach four or five years of age. Highly territorial.

Peaceful and timid species. Can live as a stand alone or in a pair. Does best with peaceful fish, along with a fairly dense vegetation and with various surface plants. Two colour morphs of the yellow honey gourami exist.

Peacuful with all tankmates. Excellent scavangenger. Beautiful coloration. Safe with all plants. Do not mix with medium or large predators fish.

Amano shrimps are renown for their ability to consume large amounts of hair algae. They also consume all kinds of organic waste including surplus food in the bottom. Introduce with peaceful fish only, otherwise it can serve as a meal! As with all shrimps, this species is sensitive to high nitrate levels.

Small, peaceful, schooling fish. Top-level swimmer. Should be kept in cool, unheated water. Excellent beginner fish.
